Uniswap Labs Appoints Former Coinbase Executive Katherine Minarik as Chief Legal Officer
Uniswap Labs has appointed Katherine Minarik, former Vice President of Legal and Deputy General Counsel at Coinbase, as its new Chief Legal Officer (CLO). Minarik succeeds Marvin Ammori, who will transition to a part-time role focusing on global public policy for decentralized finance (DeFi).

Minarik brings extensive legal experience to Uniswap Labs, having overseen global litigation and disputes at Coinbase. Her background includes serving as General Counsel at Dyson America and as a partner at litigation firm Bartlit Beck LLP.
Her appointment comes at a critical time for Uniswap Labs, which is currently under scrutiny by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). In April, the SEC issued a Wells Notice to Uniswap Labs, indicating potential enforcement action over allegations that its protocol operates as an unregistered securities exchange.
In response to her new role, Minarik expressed her commitment to the DeFi sector, stating, "It is impossible to spend time in crypto and not be inspired by the potential of DeFi to change the world."
